tamable looper

tamableloopersmall

tamable looper is a tabletop interactive system that uses clusters of sphere shaped magnets for its expressions. We enable not only to move and deform shapes of the object, but also to design postures and flexible expressions. Arrayed electromagnets are controlled individually and curtain patterns of its manipulation are designed. Users can also interact with the looper-like behaving object by gestures, which creates a relationship as if they are taming a creature. This is also one of the group of works in which inorganic material is set in motion and thereby evokes the distinctive behavior of certain living creatures.
